In the spring of 2026, Choir placed 3rd in Canada in the CBC Music Class Challenge in the Intermediate Performance (gr. 5-8) category for their performance of Mitêh. We are especially proud of this accomplishment as our choir had grade 3-6 students but we had to compete the category with older students. The word “mitêh” means heart in Cree. This song, written by the Cree-Dene artist Sherryl Sewepagaham, is about empathy and connection to ourselves, each other, and community.
