This week at École Captiol Hill we have been acknowledging Truth and Reconciliation Week. Throughout our school we are honouring those who attended residential schools, acknowledging what was taken away and reinforcing that every child matters. Learning and commemorating the truth of our history is an important part of the path to Reconciliation. As part of the learning, students and staff are again participating in Orange Shirt Day. We encourage all students to wear orange on September 28th. Additionally, a reminder that Friday, September 30th marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, thus there is no school on Friday. We hope that this day serves as a day of reflection and important conversation with your children.
